Phi Ion & Micro-needling Treatments
Phi Ion and micro-needing are two treatment of the PhiLings palette of skin treatments developed by the PhiAcademy where I (Lynne) have trained and studied.
The combination of both treatments over a period of time will work together to improve texture, elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles.
The collagen and elastin within your skin is improved.
Phi Ion treatments are based on the creation of a series of minute dots adjacent to the tension lines (which we commonly think of as wrinkles) on the skin.

The process triggers an instant and natural contraction and tightening of the skin’s fibres to create a lifting, remodelling and rejuvenating effect.
The end result is like a face lift without any of the painful surgery or recovery involved!

How Phi Ion works
Phi-Ion is a non-surgical treatment that delivers plasma into the skin to rejuvenate it. This results in improving the facial lines and wrinkles and skin pigmentation associated with photo-ageing (sun exposure) and other skin irregularities.
The treatment creates a series of tiny dots running alongside the tension lines (wrinkles) on the skin.
The process involves the natural ionisation of gases from the surrounding air to create a micro electrical discharge which causes sublimation of the excessive sagging of the superficial skin layer.
What is sublimation?
Sublimation is the natural process that turns solids into a gas.
The sublimation process triggers an instant contraction and tightening of the skin’s fibres which in turn creates the lifting, remodeling and rejuvenating result.
Micro-needling
The micro-needling treatment involves superior micro-needling at a professional level (as opposed using home micro-needling rollers).
Micro-needling is a non-surgical treatment used to rejuvenate any area of skin.
Micro-needling stimulates the natural processes of collagen production and regeneration.

Notice in the second photo how the pigmentation is reduced and the skin texture has been improved.
What is collagen?
Collagen is an essential protein found naturally within the body – it makes up nearly 80% of our skin. As we age, collagen production naturally declines and that’s when we start to notice sagging and “expression” lines (aka wrinkles) forming on our faces.
Micro-needling uses very fin needles to create hundreds of minute, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of the skin.
Because micro-needling stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin – which is the key to new, youthful-looking skin – it’s a very popular non-surgical process.
Products applied to the skin immediately after micro-needling are absorbed to a far deeper level in the skin. This, in turn, makes them far more effective.
What happens during a Phi Ion treatment?
This treatment is an exceptional way of maintaining the natural processes of skin regeneration and the synthesis of collagen fibres, which become deprived by the ageing process and external environmental factors.
Step One
During your Phi-Ion/Micro-needling treatment, the skin is treated with a special gel solution of vitamins and hyaluronic acid that ties metabolic water to itself which in turn, leads to deep hydration.
Step Two
The second step is when the introduced plasma “damages” the wrinkles that has a double effect.
The first effect is instant skin tightening (as mentioned above) and the second is the focused creation of fibrosis tissue that results in smoothing the skin’s surface and preventing further deepening of the existing unevenness.
Painless treatment
Microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface to a depth of 0.2mm – 0.75mm. The procedure is (relatively) painless.
Invisible to the naked eye, micro channels are formed in the surface layer of the skin. These channels act as a transportation system to carry introduced plasma within the skin.
The creation of these inviable-to-the-naked-eye micro channels has multiple effects:
- they stimulate the production of collagen in the skin,
- they stimulate neovascularisation, and
- they allow the trans epidermal application of the products directly into the dermis.
What is Neovascularisation?
Neovascularisation is the natural formation of new blood vessels (neo– + vascular + –isation), usually in the form of functional microvascular networks, capable of perfusion (passage of fluid through a circulatory system to an organ or tissue) by red blood cells.
Why have a Phi Ion treatment?
If you want to “undo” some of the negative effects of environmental factors (eg, sun exposure) then having a Phi Ion treatment is an excellent choice.
Sadly, it’s not possible to reverse the negative effects of sun damage to our skin, but it is possible to offset and mitigate some of the visible effects.
Phi Ion Advantages
Having a Phi Ion treatment can give you results that are comparable to invasive cosmetic surgery but through non-surgical procedures.
You’ll start to see the amazing results within 24 hours!
Collagen will immediately start to be produced and your skin will feel revitalised.
For people who suffer from non-androgenic alopecia, hair can be restored.
Skin will become immediately more hydrated.
You’ll notice increased skin tone and smoothness which will result in existing fine lines and wrinkles to become less visible.
Your skin will look younger!
Any baggy eyelids can be corrected!
Acne scarring can be reduced and, with extended treatments, virtually eliminated altogether!
